Non-Traditional Campus Ministry
In fact, we aren't on a campus at all!
South Austin Canterbury is a satellite campus/second campus for the UT Episcopal Student Center. South Austin Canterbury seeks to develop a new expression of ministry to commuter, community college, distance learning degree, part-time, and first-generation college students. At our host church, St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in South Austin, young adults can expect to find meaningful opportunities for prayer and service as well as opportunities for fellowship. Relationships are at the core of what we do at South Austin Canterbury – join us!
We know the path to a degree is full of twists and turns. If you are taking a break from formal education at this time to work or pursue other interests, you are still welcome!
As part of the Episcopal branch of the Jesus movement, we at the UT Episcopal Student Center and South Austin Canterbury seek to love and serve Christ in all people, by living into our core values as a community:

As part of the Episcopal branch of the Jesus movement, we at the UT Episcopal Student Center and South Austin Canterbury seek to love and serve Christ in all people, by living into our core values as a community:
- to be open, inclusive, and affirming — we welcome you exactly as you are
- to cultivate a sense of Home — this is your space, where you can be fed relationally
- to pray together regularly, in a way that is rooted in Episcopal tradition — to connect with God and be fed spiritually
- to create a safe space to wrestle deeply with the “big questions” — God is mystery; we are all learning together
In the first century, Jesus of Nazareth inspired a movement. A community of people whose lives were centered on Jesus Christ and committed to living the way of God’s unconditional, unselfish, sacrificial, and redemptive love. As Episcopalians, we believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in following the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose life, death and resurrection saved the world.
We have a legacy of inclusion, aspiring to tell and exemplify God’s love for every human being; women and men serve as bishops, priests, and deacons in our church. Laypeople and clergy cooperate as leaders at all levels of our church. Leadership is a gift from God and can be expressed by all people in our church, regardless of gender, sexual identity or orientation.
We believe that God loves us all – no exceptions.
